Tips for Taking Wedding Photos

If you are new at taking wedding photos and you have a wedding coming up in Brisbane soon, you might want to go over the tips that are covered here in this article. These tips are basically meant for the person who has been asked by a family friend or a family member to take the wedding photos to help them knock off some money from their overall wedding costs.

Make a Shot List
A really good thing to do is have the bride and groom make a shot list of the different things to take pictures of and the different areas in Brisbane that will be part of the wedding. This is really helpful for those family wedding photos.

Family Wedding Photos Coordinator
Weddings can be hectic and confusing with people going all over the place and everyone having fun and it can get quite chaotic so, it's a good idea to suggest to the wedding couple to appoint a family member to try and direct the wedding shoot. They can be the ones who round up everyone at the couples Brisbane wedding in order to get some good wedding shots.

Scout the Location
Make sure to visit the different locations in Brisbane where the big day is going to take place. This will give you an idea of what you are dealing with, what the lighting might be like and other things that might be involved in the photos. It's a good idea to take a few practice shots as well.

Be Prepared
Being well prepared is going to make a world of difference. First off, make sure you have a back up plan in case there is bad weather, especially if shooting outside. Make sure the camera batteries are fully charged and you have extra ones as well as extra memory cards for your camera. Try to also attend the wedding rehearsal where you can gather a lot of information on what the lighting is going to be like and other information that will help make your job easier the day of the wedding.

Don't Forget the Small Details
Don't get lost in all the formal shots, make the wedding photos for their album more interesting by making sure to include photos of small details such as photos of rings, backs of dresses, flowers, the table settings, menus, the invitations and so on. Take a look at several different wedding magazines to get inspiration from.

Display the Photos at the Reception
One of the best things about digital photography is how immediate they are. So a fun thing to do is to take a computer with you to the wedding and then upload the wedding photos taken earlier to the computer and then have a rotating slide show for people to view during the reception.

Don't Be Too Quick to Delete Mistakes
It is very tempting with a digital camera to immediately delete what you might think are bad shots. Consider saving them and then going through them later and see if you can salvage them with a photo program and then adding them as abstract photos to add interest to the wedding album.

Remember to Have Fun
Remember, wedding are suppose to be a time of celebration so let yourself have fun, the more fun you have, the more relaxed you will be and the better your wedding photos will be because they will come out more natural.
